Privacy Policy

RECOM is committed to safeguarding the privacy of its website visitors. Therefore, this policy sets out how we treat the set of personal information and data related to the individual visitors of our website. This policy is in accordance and compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection regulation 679/2016/EU, which comes into effect as of the 25th of May 2018. The content of this policy applies to all visitors of website that are located within the member states and associated countries of the European Union (EU), regardless of their status (general visitor or customer of RECOM).

In compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection regulation 679/2016/EU, RECOM has appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). This DPO has a direct connection to the top level management of RECOM and remains independent within the corporate structure of RECOM. The DPO can be contacted by electronic mail services at this address (dpo@recom-tech.com).

(1) What information is collected from the website visitors?

RECOM collects and processes personal data related to individual visitors of our group companies’ websites and fills in the role of the Data Controller for this specific set of information. Personal data collected by third parties that remain legally and economically independent from RECOM do not fall within the scope of this definition. Please refer to point (2) on cookies for further information. During the course of your visit to our website, the following types of personal data is collected:

(a) Due to the use of cookies on our website, RECOM may obtain information about a website visitor’s computer and about a website visitor’s number of visits to and use of our website. This includes information on the website visitor’s IP address (Internet Protocol), geographical location, internet access services provider, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views.

(b) In the course of using the contact form provided in the ”Contact us”-section, RECOM obtains personal information relating to an individual website visitor.

(c) For the purpose of subscribing to our website services, email notifications and/or newsletters RECOM may obtain personal information and data related to the individual website visitor.

(d) any other information that a website visitor chooses to send to us.

(f) Finally, telephone calls may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

(2) Cookies

RECOM may use cookies on its website. A cookie is a text file (.txt format) sent by a web server to a web browser client, which is stored by the browser on the website visitor’s computer on the local hard drive in the relevant program folder of the web browser application used for the visit of the website. The text file (cookie) is then read out and a data query stream is sent back to the server each time the browser requests to open a page from the server that hosts RECOM’s website. This enables the web server to identify an individual website visitor and track the web browser used by the website visitor accordingly.

The web server, which hosts the website of RECOM may send such a cookie file to a website visitor’s computer during the visit of our website, which may be stored on by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. RECOM may use the information obtained from the cookie file for the purpose of administration of our website and for the purpose to improve the usability of that website.

Most browsers allow website visitors to refuse the acceptance of cookie files. (For example, in Internet Explorer you can refuse all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Privacy”, and selecting “Block all cookies” using the sliding selector.) This will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites.

The Google Corporation offers tools for the commercial advertising and promotion of goods and services on websites, which are Google AdWords and Google AdSense. Both use a so-called Double-Dart-Cookie file. It is the same type of text file as described above in here. In case a website visitor deactivates the acceptance of cookies in the web browser used for the visit of a website, the advertising tools of the Google Corporation may appear disfunctional on that website. The Google Corporation fills in the role of the Data Controller for all personal data collected by the services and website tools provided by the Google Corporation during your visit of the website of RECOM. This paragraph applies mutatis mutandis to any other external, legally and economically independent third party provider of electronic commercial advertising and promotion services.

RECOM may use Google Analytics or another analytics tool to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on website visitors’ computers as described above. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store this information. Google’s privacy policy is available here (http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html).
